FMP - Jewellery Brand - Website

For my website I already had a good idea of what I wanted my colours to be as I had researched website for my secondary research. I did some sketches of basic outlines to help me see what would look good where. I was a little bit worried for time on my fmp as I was aware that I still had a lot to do so did a lot of experimentation on photoshop to see what looked good and could have been improved.

I did some larger drawings of the pages that I though would have worked well on photoshop. I want the front page to have my new under the see collection shown so planned on having the colour background that was behind my logo, with white banners, my logo and some drawings/photos of the new collection so that the audience could see.

These were the websites that I looked at the help me design my layout and see what I needed to include such as social networking/search bar/ newsletter/ my tabs/ photos/ text/ colour/ contact info.

I wanted my front page to have the same sort of colour combination as this page, however have the logo in the middle and the photo to the left and the title of the collection on the right as I think visually it worked better with the eye and then the eyes can follow down the page.

Here I started experimenting of photoshop to see what would work and what layouts could be improved. I changed the background colour from my logo to a more subtle colour as the darker blue was too harsh for the page and the text was difficult to see. I tried with my logo in the centre as I think this make the page look more symmetrical. I didn't like the tabs going down the page as I think it made the 'under the sea' text disproportioned to the page.

I did like this layout as everything fitted in its margin and this is the common layout for web design. If I hadn't of experimented to find something that I thought worked better I would have used this as my final webpage.

On photoshop I print screened safari and pasted this as the background so I had a real life mock up of the webpage as if it was on the screen in front of me.

I chose this as my final webpage as I felt everything fitted in really well and sat in its place. I create the text for under the see all by hand which I then photographed and image traced on illustrator so that the text was smooth and then I could change the colour and size easily on the computer.

I made this my final front page. All I had to do was add some drawings onto the front page.

Here i have added my screen onto a computer screen so that it looks more realistic and added in some drawings that I drew then image traced on illastrator . My drawings are of rings that I would have in my collection which are high end. I decided to have computer drawings rather then photofraphs as I thought it linked in better with the text and I chose black as the background was already colourful and busy and I thought that if i added more colour it would have looked confusing and not neat and delicate.

Overall I though my web design was successful and it portrayed everything that I wanted. I wish i had more time so that I could have created more pages to go onto the website and even made a live streaming one however my from page is that most important as this is what people see first and i was happy with the final outcome.
