I wanted to create a brochure for my brand to explain to customers about the high end jewels that would be used in my products. This would be something that could be added in the bag when someone had bought something, or as a handy info leaflet for people passing and wanted to find out some info. I wanted info the was easy to understand and just gave you the basics on that particular gemstone.
For my brochure I looked at some that were from a high end jewellers in my local town. I saw how there was a colour theme involved and it helped me to see what kind of font size and spacing and layout was used. I wanted my brochure to be a different shape from the others as a rectangle is so common.

I did some rough drawings of brochures that could work and showed how they would fold and open. I liked the idea of having a round brochure or something that had to be folded down the way.

The info was from what I knew about particular stone and also some information for high end jewellers. I only did 5 stones as these were the only stones that were used in the under the sea collection, however with different collections there would be different leaflets on the other stones that could be used.

For my font I hand drew the letters and image traced them on illustrator. I then added the letters together on photoshop and adjusted the size to fit the brochure.

I liked the idea of having the shape of my brochure in the shape of my logo as then this was different and my brand would be carried throughout all of my products. This was a quick sketch of how i wanter it to look.

Photoshop
My experimenting on photoshop with text and what size to have it. I wanted it big enough so that it was clear but didn't want the whole brochure once folded bigger than a5 really. I found the text difficult to make readable as it is a fancy font some of the letters are hard to ready so I had to adapt the text quiet a lot which I found a struggle as it worked on paper but on computer it was more difficult.

This was a quick mock up of the colour and background that I wanted. Although this was a sunset i thought it looked eye-catching however I knew this would be confusing for the whole brand so went to the colour that had been used for the logo so that everything matched. I also wasted to add a photo at the bottom however I used so much text that there wasn't enough space and I couldn't make the text smaller as then it would have been too difficult to read. Also I wanted to have my own photos in the brochure however I didn't obviously have the rings that I wanted to be able to shoot them and put them in. This could have been something that I could have done if I had more time.

This was my brochure flat and it would all fold into each other and unfold. The colour once I had printed it was took dark and too hard to read so I had to change this in my development changes post.

All together I think the brochure was a useful tool that I created as it gave the customer info that could be taken away as a reminder of the brand and also explained the type of company that we are with high end gemstones. The colour and font was the hardest part of this brochure and i really struggled making the headings look good and be readable which took a lot of time that i didn't expect. However I was glad that i managed to over come this and get something that i was happy with .
