Overall in my fmp I felt that I created the type of brand that i set out to. Looking at it all on my board i was proud with what i had achieved and managed to create more than i had hoped for, which was a plus. I was also very surprised with my tie management as this was something that i was worried i would struggle with, which i did, however i expected it to be worse.
I think my development skills were good as normally i struggle with this and go for the first idea i have as i think i will run out of time, however i used a range of materials, started off with small sketches and drawings and then developed ones that i liked into larger ideas and added colour. This was something that i had learnt to do throughout my previous projects and it definitely helped me choose my final logo as i had been able to adapt it and get it exactly how i wanted it.
However to improve this i could have tried a wider range of materials to eliminate every possible idea so that i was 100% sure, although my final design was exactly how i pictured it.
I think to improve my research i could have possible gone to a jewellery class if i had planned my time better and used my makings as part of my display to make my product come to life. I think i would have also enjoyed this as a hobby, so if i had planned my times better i could have done this. Also for my research i could have found more contextual artists which i really struggles with however i managed to find illustrators that inspired my work which i will now look at on other occasions.
I was really please with my use of software as i had never used illustrator before and i managed to use this a lot in the creating of my text and font. This was very good as it made my work look more professional and make the text be unique to my brand. This also made my ring designs computerised so that i could adapt them to the way i wanted. I also developed my photoshop skills whilst making my coloured background as i had never used these filters and they gave me the exact look i was going for.
Overall I was very pleased with my brand and i think that if i had more time i could have added a lot more to it such as a full website that could have possibly become up and running and created some real life jewellery to go with my display. I was happy with my packaging as i tried and tested it and it worked in real life and i feel my designs and sketchbook work portray the kind of company i wanted to create. Throughout the graphic pathway i have learned skills and techniques that i will use throughout all of my work now and since i had never experienced graphics before i am very happy with the work i have produced and very glad that i have learnt graphics for this year.
