Graphics - Typhography

This day was my favourite day so far as all of the tasks that we were given I managed to create something that I was proud of. I have never done graphics before and I enjoyed creating the different fonts and posters.
First we had to create different fonts for the alphabet. I used some of my 3D work into this and made the 'M' stand off the page by layering 3 on top of each other.

I used a mixture of 2D and 3D drawings. I also used different colours to make the page more vibrant.

I tried out different fonts in the fill alphabet to see what they would look like, some in capital and some in lower case.

I chose this as my final font. I used a zig zag motion to create the text, and I like it as it had texture to it and it was still easy enough to read. I feel this was successful and I learnt that working quickly can be effective as you can make an accidental discovery that works.

I did some idea sketches to help me choose what I wanted to do. Then with my final idea I drew it in A3, the size I was working from, to give me and idea of what it would look like.

For our next task we had to create a poster that would best describes oureselves and jobs in 2033 in an exhibition. I chose the V&A museum for my exhibition places as that is where my favourite exhibitions have been held and my work would best fit in there. I chose to make a mannequin shape out of different fonts and words as this was what I had learnt over the week. I used tracing paper layered on top with certain words written on each one, so that some of the words were more blurred and faded that others, so that I could portray that the future isn't clear and we don't know what to expect. I used words that described me and things that I would like to do for a job. I used different and contrasting colours as well to make the poster stand out and interesting. My planning and quick sketches helped me conclude to this idea and shows that planning helps and idea work. I did adapt my idea as I went along however.

  1. Its great to see how you've included so much information about the day and how you detailed each of the pictures.
From the poster I can see that you're very interested in Fashion promotion. The way in which you show all the experimentations from font to colour and layout is a great visual and shows how organised you are.
