For our last workshop day we learnt how to use the laser cutters to cut out a design. This could include and image or text. I chose to write my name and use a fashion illustration picture by one of my favourite artists. We learnt that Red, Black and Blue are the main colours used in the software. Each one has a different purpose such as cut out, etch or outline. I chose for my name to be outlines and my image to be etched. We could use a variety of materials in the laser cutter and wood worked really well, however I used cardboard and this gave an amazing effect to the image.

This was my final design which was larger than I expected, however I really enjoyed this as it has given me more confidence to use different machines for my designs.
