Our food branding project was two weeks long and we had to create a brand that would work at a food market stall. During this food project we went on a trip to the Barbican and went to a food market stall which gave me inspiration for colour and branding ideas. I chose to make my stall Xmas themed due to the time of year and researched markets such as winter wonderland that my product could potentially be sold at. This research was a cafe and I liked the style of its branding.Firstly my idea was to have biscuits that could be decorated and personalised. I struggled with a name as I wanted it to have alliteration as I think this works well in a brand. I decided with delicious decor and the biscuits that are decorated and hopefully delicious.

I chose different fonts to help me chose the brand image. I wanted something swirly that linked to icing on biscuits. My first idea was to have a candy cane image at the bottom of the word to look like and underline. I made a few samples so I could see what worked better.

Here I added colour to see what would work best. I chose modern contrast colours as I think they were eye-catching. I chose the plum colour text for my final logo.

I made a mock up of my stall and apron for the brand guidelines, however after doing so I decided I wanted to make the logo more delicate and decorative to link to my product, as the logo I had chosen didn't work.

Here I researched products that already existed in the biscuit world. Pinterest was helpful at this as it had a mood board of ideas that existed and I could see what looked good to help my design my biscuits.

I researched the type of brand I wanted to be and how I wanted to come across to my audience. Harris and Hoole, a coffee shop were a good inspiration as they has a rustic feel about them but also had an expensive feel due to the colour and layout of the website. This was the kind of product and message I wanted so used the colours in my new branding ideas.

I also researched the areas that I could hold my stall during the xmas period. Winterwonderland was popular and I could see if my product and brand would fit into the setting.

Here I chose a different decorative look for my font and experimented with different styles. I chose a swirl under the text to link to the icing.

Here I experimented with colour and chose my final colour and font. I think this worked better than the other font as its more delicate and the detailing isn't as chunky and distracting.

Here I made some branding guidelines showing the font in different sizes and the combination of colours used in the brand. This was helpful as it brought my product and brand together and then anyone could design something to fit my brand.

Here I adjusted my stall and apron to fit in with my new brand. I think these worked better as the colours weren't as harsh and the complete brand is more what I was going for in my product.

Here I did a mock up of what I wanted my biscuits to look like. There are patterns and writing on some of the biscuits showing that anything can be written on and that the product is suitable for any occasion.

I chose a heart and stars as they fitted in with the festive theme but could also relate to cultures that possibly didn't celebrate this holiday.

Overall I really enjoyed this product as halfway through I rebranded my brand and was able to understand the complete image that you have to view to create a product from scratch. I think my branding went well however I could have improved on my name idea as this was what I struggled on.
